I am a disciple of Jesus Christ (Henry B Eyring)

I am a part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made; I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.

I won't look back, let up, slow down, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low-living, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tainted visions, worldly talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need pre-eminence, positions, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk with patience, am lifted by prayer, and labor with power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, divided or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, shut up, or let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, and paid up for the cause of Christ. I must go 'til He comes, give 'til I drop, preach 'til all know, and work 'til He stops me. And when He returns for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me. My banner will be clear.

( I haven't found the reference for that, a young man in my ward used it in his talk--he actually MEMORIZED it! but when i find it, I'll post it.)

Henry B Eyring on Unity -vs-Contention

“Where people have that Spirit with them, we may expect harmony.

The Spirit puts the testimony of truth in our hearts, which unifies those who share that testimony.

The Spirit of God never generates contention (see 3 Nephi 11:29).

It never generates the feelings of distinctions between people which lead to strife
(see Joseph F. Smith, Gospel Doctrine, 5th ed. [1939], 131).

It leads to personal peace and a feeling of union with others.
It unifies souls.
A unified family, a unified Church, and a world at peace depend on unified souls”
(in Conference Report, Apr. 1998, 86; or Ensign, May 1998, 67).
(bold added)

Parley P. Pratt speaks of The Book of Mormon

“I opened it with eagerness, and read its title page. I then read the testimony of several witnesses in relation to the manner of its being found and translated. After this I commenced its
contents by course. I read all day; eating was a burden, I had no desire for food; sleep was a burden when the night came, for I preferred reading to sleep.

“As I read, the spirit of the Lord was upon me, and
I knew and comprehended that the book was true”

(Autobiography of Parley P. Pratt, ed. Parley P. Pratt Jr.
[1938], 37).

My letter to Glenn Beck

I just started watching your show a few weeks ago,
and THANK YOU for saying EXACTLY what I've been talking about all this time.
SO MANY people I talk to feel the same way and the backward media are indoctrinating people and saying
"If you are (place gender or race or religion here) then you have to vote (insert self-serving money-grubbing candiate's name here)."
And "Yes we believe in free choice for each individual as long as each individual agrees with MY doctrine for their life,"
and "Anyone who feels differently than what I am lobbying for has obviously been brainwashed or is too stupid to make intelligent choices"
I'm tired of being told how I should feel and how I should think!
THANK YOU for your "9 Principles" and "12 Values"!
Thank You for having the guts to say it on the news!
Thanks for not allowing them to censure you.
Geez, Its starting to feel like 1984!
Would it be ok to put your stuff on my blog? Or set up a link or something?
THANKS!!!
